At Honduras Threads, every product tells a story of collaboration and craftsmanship. The Octopus pillow features a unique design by American artist Samantha Sano, brought to life by Honduran artisan Yenny Amador. Carolina and the rest of the women of the Honduras Threads collective learned their advanced embroidery skills from American embroidery experts to master their craft and produce exceptional, intricate designs.
100% of every purchase goes directly back to the artisan's collective, where it’s reinvested into their community and continuing education. Their work does more than create beautiful pillows and table runners—it fosters dignity, self-respect, and opportunities for growth.
Since 2002, the women of the Honduras have made every home-good on our website possible. Using their business skills and artistic talents, they handcraft each unique product with care and precision.
About the Artist

Sam (Samantha) Sano. At TCU, Sam was an art student and, early on, she worked out of a shed in her back yard. “She’s always had a space of her own,” says one friend. Sam says the pillow cover design “is so simple but I felt like it would be a neat pillow. Was half art Anni Albers brain (Anni Albers was a German textile artist and printmaker credited with blurring the lines between traditional craft and art) and half my interior design brain. I did several others that are much more expressive, but I wasn’t sure if they would translate as well to a pillow. Sam is the founder of SWOON, a multi‑disciplinary design firm specializing in luxury branding, interior design, and art direction. “SWOON is home to an intrepid crew of designers, artists, writers, makers, editors, illustrators, photographers, and product designers,” Sam says, which enables the firm “to approach projects holistically and create work that is soulful, compelling, and memorable.”
