At Honduras Threads, every product tells a story of collaboration and craftsmanship. The Stitched Network pillow features a unique design by highly regarded American artist Catherine MacMahon, brought to life by Honduran artisan Maria Ordonez. Maria and the rest of the women of the Honduras Threads collective learned their advanced embroidery skills from American embroidery experts to master their craft and produce exceptional, intricate designs.
100% of every purchase goes directly back to the artisan's collective, where it’s reinvested into their community and continuing education. Their work does more than create beautiful pillows and table runners—it fosters dignity, self-respect, and opportunities for growth.
Since 2002, the women of the Honduras have made every home-good on our website possible. Using their business skills and artistic talents, they handcraft each unique product with care and precision.
About the Artist

Catherine MacMahon's installations, sculptures and drawings are described as “embodying universal themes of memory, repetition and form.” There is “a sense of in-betweenness.” Though neither figurative nor narrative, she suggests abstract liminal states, which question polarities, certitude, or fixed narratives, in favor of delicate deviances. She involves the exploration of and, sometimes, rejection of the feminine identity ascribed to materials and structures. She rigorously challenges what constitutes an interior space, how that is formed, and what social constructs are latent within it. MacMahon’s installations, sculptures, and drawings embody universal themes of memory, repetition, and form. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree from California College of the Arts in San Francisco and was an All-College Honors Award recipient. She completed a Bachelor of Science from the UT-Austin’s School of Architecture where she received several endowed scholarships and awards. In 2006, she attended the Textile Society of America Study Tour “Fibers of Japan” with Yoshiko I. Wada. She has participated in the Gallery Lab Program and in The Great Create, both at The Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas.
