Carolina and the rest of the women of the Honduras Threads collective learned their advanced embroidery skills from American embroidery experts to master their craft and produce exceptional, intricate designs.

About the Artist
Paul Jarzemsky. Of his art, Paul says, “the act of painting is an emotional response to the world around me. I work primarily in plein air in order to utilize the immediacy of light and weather in my paintings. As I encounter the landscape before me, my challenge is to distill the infinite range of form and color into a composition that becomes a portrait of a specific place and time. Some of the plein air paintings are studies for larger studio pieces. I work primarily in Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado because of the myriad combinations of color, geological forms, water, and vegetation I find in the Southwest.”
About the Artisan
Carolina Sagastume is 38 yeas old and has been working with the Honduras Threads collective for 17 years. She lives in the community of Rincon de Dolores with her son and daughter.
