El doce Design Embroidered Table Runner on Green
100% of each sale goes back to our women associates. Working to make table runners, pillow covers, shawls, and other fiber arts items provides income used to pay for food, medical needs and school supplies and transportation to school for associates’ children. Ultimately, it creates dignity and self-respect.
The El Doce design is stunning with its appliquéd circles and semi-circles and intricate embroidery. It creates a spectacular table!
Artist Pamela Nelson who designed the El Doce said her life’s course was set watching her grandmother’s hands making handwork items from fabric. Full circle from start to finish and back again to start is how she said her work progresses. She said she longs to see patterns. Pamela is an artist-citizen of the City of Dallas. Closely identifying with urban life, she has contributed to public art locally at DFW Airport, 5 Dart light rail stations, Northpark Center, First United Methodist Church of Richardson, and several local hospitals. Her outreach includes working with HondurasThreads, the Stewpot Open Art Program, and Incarnation House. Pamela's work is in the collections of the Dallas Museum of Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, El Paso Museum of Art, and several American embassies abroad. She served on the U. S. Commission of Fine Arts in Washington D.C. from 2001-2011.
