At times, she said the landscape can be overwhelming with complexity, like life. Landscapes can communicate complex ideas. Other times, she said her connection to outdoor energy is a sense of calm like being home, while simultaneously feeling a sense of awe and wonder. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;\"\u003eIn 2018 she was honored with the SMU \u003c\/span\u003eMary Vernon Painting Prize from the Southern Methodist University Meadows Art faculty. Her artwork was included in New Texas Talent XXVII in 2020 and the Texas National 2018 Art Competition \u0026amp; Exhibition. She is a member of Strata Gallery, Santa Fe, NM. Julie earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. After a career in the semiconductor industry, she earned an Associates of Arts degree in 2015 at Brookhaven College, Farmers Branch, Texas. In 2018, she earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Art degree from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas.
