Abacus with personality on orange
Playful yet sophisticated, this design from our 20x20 20th Anniversary Exhibition turns the beads of an abacus into distinct, expressive faces. Bring a friendly crowd to any space you decorate with this pillow. Designed by Barbara Glazer Rosenblatt.
Every cent of every piece sold goes back to our associates in Honduras. Every day, these women expertly craft table runners, pillow covers, shawls, and other fiber arts items. Their income from each sale covers food and medical needs for their whole family, and school supplies and transportation to school for their children. Ultimately, this work creates dignity and self-respect.
Dallas artist Barbara Glazer Rosenblatt works in a variety of mediums including soft sculpture, pen and ink, watercolor, gouache, colored pencil, and paper mâché. A Dallas native, she received a BA in Fine Arts from Brown University and an MBA from the Cox School of Business at SMU. Her work as an artist and illustrator has appeared in The New York Times, Worth, Texas Monthly, D Magazine, American Way, Rolling Stone, The Village Voice and The Dallas Morning News.
